Anatomy and Physiology of Heart

ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY OF HEART;

POSTERIOR AND ANTERIOR VIEW!

DEFINITION:

HEART is hollow muscular organ that pump the blood through the circulatory system of rhythmic contraction and dilation.

PHYSIOLOGY;

As the heart beats or contract, the blood makes continuous round trip..in and out of the heart through the rest of the body, and then back to the heart..only to be sent out again..
>the amount of work that a heart does is almost too incredible to believe.
>In one day it pushes the body's supply of 6 quarts or so of blood through the blood vessels over 1000 times, meaning that it actually pump about 6000 quarts of blood in a single day.

●MAIN PARTS OF HEART ON ANTERIOR VIEWS;

(1) AORTA =the major systemic artery arises from the left ventricle.
>The largest artery in the body.
>Aorta begin at the top of the left ventricle, the heart's muscular pumping chamber.
>The heart pumps blood from the left ventricle into the aorta through the aortic valve.
>Three leaflets on the aortic valve open and close with each heartbeat to allow one way flood of the blood.

FUNCTION.;
>Carries and distribute oxygen rich blood to all arteries.most major arteries branch off from the aorta.

(2) SUPERIOR VENA CAVA OR VENAE CAVAE.;
>Is a vein in the body that carries deoxygenated blood to the right atrium of the heart.
>commonly referred to as the PRECAVA.

(3)PULMONARY ARTERY.
>The artery that carries blood with the low level of oxygen from the right ventricle of the heart of the lung.

(4)LEFT ATRIUM
>The right upper chamber of the heart that receives blood from the pulmonary veins.
>upper chamber of each half of the heart.

(5)RIGHT ATRIUM
> The right upper chamber of the heart that receives blood from venae cavae and conaey sinus.

(6)RIGHT VENTRICLE
>The chamber on the right side of the heart that receives venous blood from the right atrium and pump it into the pulmonary trunk.

(7)LEFT VENTRICLE
>The chamber on the left side of the heart that receives arterial blood from the left atrium and pump it into the aorta.

(8)INFERIOR VENA CAVA
>Receives blood from lower limps and abdominal organ and empties into the posterior part of the right atrium of the heart.
>formed from the ilium union of the two iliae veins.

(9) DESCENDING AORTA
>The descending part of the aorta that branches into the thoracic and abdominal aorta.

COMMON HEART DISEASE.
CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE
CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE
CORONARY HEART DISEASE
CORONARY MICRO-VASCULAR DISEASE
CYANOTIC HEART DISEASE
HYPERTENSIVE HEART DISEASE
ISCHAEMIC HEART DISEASE
INFLAMMATORY HEART DISEASE

NOTE!
Healthy heart requires healthy way of living with proper diet and exercise and yoga.
